SILVER BAY MARINA FISH TOURNAMENT

Lake Superior Salmon Classic

2008 Fishing Tournament Brochure
(revised 6/26/08)

The 2008 Lake Superior Salmon Classic was a huge success. It’s always an anticipated guess when Lake Superior surface water temperatures will finally turn. The 2008 event saw colder water temperatures, which made it a challenge for the fishermen. Over 100 businesses donated to the event’s prizes, making 122 raffle packages, retail value over $6,000. 84 boats with around 238 fishermen weighed in over 193 fish/ 849 pounds! Largest fish was an 18.04 lb lake trout. 15 fish place winners received over $3,500 in prizes.

The Friends of the Library would like to thank the Silver Bay Marina, City of Silver Bay, ALL the businesses for hosting another great contest for all, and most of all thank you to the participants of the event supporting your local library!
